WHY THE NAME CSH
The name CSH comes from Calcium Silicate Hydrate, the compound responsible for the strength and durability of concrete. It forms during the cement hydration process and is what ultimately gives concrete its structural integrity.
The name reflects our commitment to building projects that are strong, durable, and built the right way from the ground up.

A FAMILY FOUNDED BUSINESS
CSH Concrete was founded by a husband-and-wife team with the goal of building a professional construction company centered on quality workmanship, integrity, and long-term relationships within the Houston community.
Ashley Duran – Co-Founder
Ashley holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education from the University of Houston and has worked in education for over six years, with more than fifteen years of experience working with children and families.
Her professional background emphasizes organization, communication, and leadership — skills that translate directly into managing business operations, coordinating projects, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Ashley also brings early exposure to the construction industry through her family. Growing up around construction work, she assisted with administrative and business tasks related to home renovation and contracting projects. Her father has worked as a general contractor, and other family members specialize in trades such as tile, painting, and carpentry.
This background provided firsthand exposure to construction projects, estimating, and coordination long before launching CSH Concrete. Today, she focuses on building the company’s operations, client relationships, and long-term growth.
Joe Duran, PE – Co-Founder
Joe is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas, earning his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Houston.
He brings extensive experience in civil infrastructure design and construction management, having worked on a wide range of public infrastructure and facility projects throughout the region.
Project experience includes:
Wastewater treatment facilities
Groundwater and surface water treatment plants
Stormwater pump stations and lift stations
Transit facility improvements
Parking lot and pavement reconstruction
Site development and drainage infrastructure
Detention pond improvements and site grading
Mechanical and electrical infrastructure upgrades
This experience includes both engineering design and construction-phase project management, coordinating with engineers, contractors, and public agencies to successfully deliver complex infrastructure projects.
Joe’s engineering background brings a technical, detail-driven approach to construction, ensuring that critical elements such as site preparation, drainage, reinforcement, and concrete placement are executed correctly to produce durable and long-lasting results.
